What our clients say

Arthritic Pain

” I am in better health only because of osteopathy, Victoria and Dawn. I first saw Victoria on recommendation of a friend for pain in my left neck, shoulder blade, elbow and forearm. I had been suffering for a couple of years and had eventually seen my GP and an orthopaedic consultant who diagnosed carpel tunnel syndrome for which I had an operation. It didn’t help at all and six months later I was in severe discomfort and it was making me so tired and low. After examining me, Victoria sent me for an MRI which confirmed her suspicions of a disc bulge and arthritis in my neck which was causing the pain down my arm by irritating the nerves. From my very first session I noticed an improvement in my pain and after four I was so much better. Since Victoria’s move to Singapore, I now see Dawn about once every two months to keep on top of my arthritis – I am so thankful.”

Back Pain - Upper and Lower

“I first made an appointment to see Esther several months after my feet went from under me on black ice. I had banged the back of my head sharply and had a very uncomfortable neck. I had also started to get pain in one hand as well as having a recurrently uncomfortable back.

Esther insisted that we discussed my history of any major injuries and I admitted to three acute back incidents. In each case I had been immobilised but had always recovered without medical intervention. I also told her of a problem I had with a painful region around my ribs, possibly caused by many hours at a desk. (I worked as a teacher and spent more than forty years, twice a year, marking public Biology examination papers at all levels.)
At each session Esther seems to absorb all information very sensitively and incorporates this into her amazingly intuitive treatment. Her approach is friendly, but professional, and the positive impact of her treatment has been both immediate and lasting.
Since Esther and Dawn have become my osteopaths the initial pains have disappeared and what I thought was a chronic back condition for a pensioner of my age is no longer a problem: they have helped to keep me mobile and flexible. I remain relatively active and am buoyed up by a trust that they would be able to address and improve any future aches and pains.
I have been particularly impressed by their determination that I should not become reliant on them, but should be able to keep myself going. I never feel that they are out to prolong treatment unnecessarily for profit, but the knowledge that I can call on them if I need to do so re-assures me.”

” I have been receiving treatment for my back from Dawn for many years now and it has improved so much that I now only need to see her on an occasional basis. I am more than happy to recommend Dawn for her effective treatment, care and kindness.”

S.H.Corsham

” I was referred to Wellbeing Osteopaths by my physiotherapist. I had been receiving physiotherapy for over a year, as advised by my consultant after a severe disc prolapse in my lower spine. I cannot recommend Osteopathic care enough. The service and treatment I have received has been very professional: right from Julie in reception to Dawn at Laura Place Clinic. I have noticed a significant improvement in my back and in my overall health and have always felt extremely well looked after in their care.

I would recommend Laura Place Clinic to anyone who has been in severe pain and wondered whether life could ever really improve – I am proof that it can.”

Headaches

“After suffering from severe headaches for more than 2 years and medical treatment non effective, I chose to try cranial osteopathy. After 4 treatments with Dawn my symptoms were decreasing dramatically and instead of 3-4 headaches a week (sometimes lasting days) I have only had a couple in the last 5 weeks (both short lived). I can’t recommend Dawn enough to anyone and just wish I had looked into this treatment a long time ago. Living with an almost permanent headache is really no fun at all and I feel now that my life has finally returned back to normal after years of suffering.”

“I saw Sally with a fairly constant headache which had been going on for one week. After the first treatment it pretty much disappeared overnight which was a real relief. The issue was mainly due to tension in my neck and shoulders. Sally helped me identify changes that I needed to make to my posture at work and in the gym to prevent the tension returning.”

Joint Pain and Stiffness

” I have Secondary Progressive MS and as there are no licensed drugs to treat this stage of the disease as yet, I am fiercely determined to keep as mobile and ‘flexible’ as I possibly can. Through my regular treatments with Dawn, I know I feel the benefit and cannot sing her praises highly enough. My MS has been a part of my life for 26 years but I feel blessed to have found a wonderful Osteopath in Dawn and I have no doubt that her knowledge, care and expertise have helped me enormously.”

Knee Problems

“I went to Dawn with a knee injury that had also put my back into spasm. I was immediately at ease with her warm greeting which helped my body to relax. I felt a new woman when I left and after two days I was walking more easily and the pain had subsided. I have continued to have regular treatments which has kept me mobile without pain. She has also treated my grandchildren and daughter with excellent results .
Dawn is extremely competent, wise, knowledgeable with a twinkle that lights up the room. She really is a great healer.”

Muscle Spasms

Dawn Hamilton has been helping me to cope with the numerous discomforts associated with primary progressive Multiple Sclerosis. Symptoms include muscle spasms, loss of mobility, aching joints, fatigue and a constant concern about advancing disability.
This therapy has a remarkable power to relax the body. I don’t quite understand how, but Dawn’s gentle treatment has immediate effect, generating a real and long lasting feeling of well-being and calm. I believe this therapy is powerful in its effects and more people should know about it. Although I don’t expect to be healed, I do believe the benefits are real and preferable to repeated use of pain killing medication.                 Pat Panton, Corsham

Neuralgia

“From around 2005 I started suffering from trigeminal neuralgia which was I think from having a tooth removed. This soon became a constant, unpleasant and depressing pain shooting down my face especially on cold, windy , winter days. My GP said there is very little that can be done to correct this apart from pain management and many painkillers. I also tried acupuncture but it gave very little benefit and had to look for an alternative form of therapy to combat my situation. I came across Dawn and researched into osteopathic care, as this was a totally new form of therapy to me and not one I had heard of before. I felt this could help my situation and booked to see Dawn and very quickly realised this was an excellent move. We discussed my situation in depth and began treatment with her and very quickly realised this started to help me and got my life back on track. I have now been visiting Dawn for 8 years on a regular basis and her skill and understanding has been invaluable. I would totally recommend Dawn, she is simply the very best.”

Painful Foot

“I have no idea how I hurt my foot, but I was in considerable pain and hobbling for a few days. I made an appointment to see Dawn who applied her knowledgable TLC to the toe joints and by the end of the short treatment I was walking normally. This was many months ago and there has been no return of the problem. It was a miracle!”

Sciatica

“I had suffered a bad case of back pain and sciatica. A physiotherapist helped with the back pain, but the sciatica persisted, giving a nagging pain in the thigh and stiffness in the legs.  It kept me awake at night and I was unable to sit comfortably in low seating. An evening’s ‘relaxation’ involved prowling round the lounge to ease the tension and pain. A series of treatments from Dawn Hamilton at Green Ginger in Corsham have rectified the problem and I can now sleep and sit to relax. Dawn carried out a detailed examination of my whole frame and identified the problem in the back which was affecting the sciatic nerve. She then began the careful massage and manipulation of the back, legs and neck.  As an osteopath Dawn is extremely well informed about the complex patterns of muscles and nerves in the body and the way they are interconnected. She carefully explains what she is doing as she goes along and it was sometimes surprising to feel sensations in my legs when she worked on an area around my neck! Each of our sessions begins with a careful analysis of my current condition and an update on progress. Dawn always remembers how I was at the last visit and is confident about how to proceed with the next treatment.  She also remembers all the chat that we have about me and my family, and the one-hour sessions are always a pleasure.”
Prof. Stephen Ward, Corsham

“I first visited Dawn for sciatica a couple of years ago. The ongoing treatment, for damage caused by working in a care home for 25 years, has eased the symptoms considerably. Dawn is a good osteopath who shows an interest in me and my health. I find Dawn to be a warm and compassionate professional and I would fully recommend her.”
Mary Hodges, Corsham.

Tendinitis

“I came to Wellbeing Osteopaths suffering pain from long term tendinitis. Their treatment helped me to keep the pain levels under control, and so I could continue with my work, until I was able to receive a steroid injection.”
